National Veterans Wheelchair Games

The Paralyzed Veterans of America are involved with several nationally-based games. From the National Veterans Summer Wheelchair Games, to the Winter Games, and the Silver Games, you will have opportunities to choose fun and challenging ways to stay active.

The National Veterans Wheelchair Summer Games is the largest annual wheelchair sports competition of its kind in the world. Each year more than 500 novice and experience athletes meet for a week of archery, swimming, weightlifting, basketball, quad rugby and many more sports. Throughout the week, veterans realize their abilities and potential while enjoying the spirit of healthy activity and fellowship. PVA and the Department of Veterans Affairs have co-sponsored the Games since 1985.

At PVA Cal-Diego, there are other opportunities for healthy, fun and challenging activities, including the recreational programs at the VAMC La Jolla (cycling, swimming, archery, golf, outings, etc.) We also have the Winter Ski Clinic at Big Bear Mountain, and grants available through the Torrey Pines Kiwanis Foundation to provide a snow ski trip to Durango.

Contact us here for more information on any of these programs.
