We put them through an obstacle course that looked rather simple to the eye, but when the kids actually sat in the chair with a basketball in their laps, life was seen a bit differently! Afterwards, some of the children wanted to race around the gymnasium. To add a bit of excitement to the race, two time-world champion handcyclist, Al Kovach, got into the mix. He gave the students a head start then literally rolled circles around them! Talk about funny. But, I believe the kids got the point. Principal, Mark Silver, came by to see the classes and asked if we would return in June for a presentation to the 7th graders and parents then return in November for Veterans Day activities. A great day and teachings were had by all.
